JI65's CANDAT SOTONG TRIP
on 30/4 to 3/5/2010
A successful discussion was held at Bab's house
on Friday 26 February 2010 at 3.45 pm
regarding the planned 4D3N (4-day 3-night) trip to Kuala
Terengganu from Friday, 30/4/10 to Monday, 3/5/10. Other than
the host, Bab, other members of JI65 who turned up for the
meeting were LanK, Shahar, Rusli Adam and Ad.
The idea of taking the bus for the trip was scrapped and
participants for the event would arrange for their own transport
instead.
Based on the discussion, the itinerary for the trip has been
revised as follows:
Friday, 30th April 2010.
8.30 am - Meet immediately after the Gombak Tol Plaza
10.30 am - Stop at R & R Gambang for a rest and wait until all
the convoy has arrived.
11.00 am - Led by Ad, convoy leaves R & R Gambang for Kuantan to
residence of Grandpa Ahmad Fadzil
12.00 pm - Stops for a meal at Ahmad Fadzil's residence
(followed by a tour of his angsa and other creatures in his
"farm"). After that, convoy proceeds and stops at Dr.Sulaiman' s
plantation for a refreshment.
4.00 - 5.00 pm - Expected arrival at Anjung Pantai Seberang
Chalets in Kuala Terengganu.
After checking-in, rest and free activity for everyone.
Dinner to be arranged at a time and place to be decided
After dinner, members leave for "candat sotong".
Saturday, 1st May 2010
Golfers leave for Kuala Terengganu
Golf Resort
for breakfast and golf.
After breakfast, non-golfers leave for Tasik Kenyir. Golfers
have lunch at Golf Club.
Non-Golfers have lunch at a place to be decided after the trip
from Tasik Kenyir.
After lunch, leaves for Museum,
Taman Tamadun Islam and Masjid Kristal by boat.
At night have barbecue dinner at the Anjung Pantai Chalets.
Sunday, 2nd May 2010
Golfers leave for Green Acres Golf Resort at Kuala Ibai for
breakfast and golf.
Non-golfers leave for "Nasi
Dagang" breakfast and then visit the "songket tenun"
factory. After the visit to the "tenun" factory, proceed to
Pulau Duyong to visit the Kaymarine Shipyard and have
lunch there.
After lunch, return to hotel for free activity or take boat to
Pasar Payang to "survey" or buy souvenir items (Tok Yee to
advise where to buy what at the best price).
Dinner at a place to be decided.
Monday, 3rd May 2010.
After breakfast, take boat from
Seberang Takir to Pasar Payang for "final shopping".
12.00 pm Check out from Anjung Pantai chalets.
After lunch (at a place to be decided), stops at "Floating"
Masjid at Kuala Ibai for Jamaq Takdim. Convoy then proceeds to
return to their respective destination.
The above program is subject to changes as and when the
situation warrants it. Members of JI65 are requested to book
early as the rooms at the Anjung Pantai Chalet are very limited
in numbers, especially when the event coincides with the Public
Holday (1st May 2010,
Labour Day)
and the Candat Sotong Carnival. If we have a minimum of 35
participants, we intend to book the whole Anjung Pantai Chalets
to ourselves, thus we can organise our own activities, like
karaoke, late teh tarek, usrah, etc.
If you are interested to participate, please inform our Shahar
at 019-3134348 or email to jublintan65@ yahoogroups. com as soon
as possible.
We are embarking on the Coffee Table Book (CTB) Project and wish
to solicit from all JI65 citizens for any form of written works
that can be included in our CTB. There is no restriction as to
what you may write for as long as it is legal, not seditious,
and not morally unpalatable. The editorial board will vet,
select, decide and design the CTB according to the articles
received.
We appeal to each and everyone of us for pictures that may be
relevant for publishing in our CTB. As was said earlier, please
place them in an envelope, marked your name for us to return
back to you once scanned. And, please inform Bab (Anuar Ismail)
at 12-2266935
when you have done it to arrange for collection.
Our Chief Editor, Bakaq (012-6518451) has created an email
address,
projekctb@gmail.com for all JI65 members to submit their
works for the CTB.
We have also opened a
forum blog to
discuss on the CTB and other topics of mutual interest to
citizens of JI65. Please register yourself at the
forum blog and
participate in the discussion. If you have difficulties in
registration, please contact LanK (013-2020998).
The success or failure of this CTB project
depends on your participation and contribution of articles and
photos.
We just had a meeting amongst some
11 of us at Jed's residence in
Subang Jaya, the main topic of
discussion being the
current circumstances our brother
Mohd Nor bin Isa Monsa) is in.
He is in dire need of help. Without
going into too much detail in this
mail, I would like to mention that
Monsa requires quite a significant
amount of funds to let him be back
on track to be able to support
himself and his family. He has
decided, and we are giving him the
backing, for him to continue
indulging himself in the dadih
business of which he is most
familiar with.
Tonight we have collected some RM3k
to provide him with immediate
financial support to enable him
to sustain his family in these few
weeks.
We are trying to help him in
purchasing equipment for his
production and some working capital
to the tune of RM30-40k which
includes a reasonable van
to conduct distribution and delivery
of his product. This
amount of money is indeed
required to provide a viable
start-up. For him to get this
start-up funding for his business
from any
financial institution will be
near impossible given his current
credit standing. Therefore, he is
looking for the generosity of his
own friends to help him.
I understand this is not an
insignificant amount of money for us
in JI65 to raise, especially when
JI65 itself is not a
money-generating organisation.
Therefore, I am appealing to the
generosity of each and everyone of
you to come forward to express your
comradeship by extending your help
to him in the form of channeling
your zakat obligations, outright
contribution or even as a loan that
he will have to repay when his
business activity stabilises.
Please make your contributions by
banking into the following account
of Jed's (Abdul
Aziz b Ishak - our Treasurer)
who has specially opened this
account just for JI65's use:-
Name: Abdul Aziz b Ishak
Bank:
CIMB Bank
Account Number: 1424 0000 209
526.
After banking in your contribution,
please text an sms to Jed (Mobile
No; +60193231545)
stating your name and whether this
is a zakat contribution, outright
contribution or a loan.
I hope each and everyone of us will
show our support and do what a
comrade should do.
Amongst other things discussed at Anuar's
and Jed's recently was to start a monthly
usrah for the JI brotherhood.
AlhamduLillah, I have obtained an agreement
in principle by Uztaz Shofwan Badrie, to
start the above. He is willing to take us
on the following parameters:
Day: First Saturday of
each month Venue: To be rotated amongst
the homes of JI members on voluntary basis. Time: Start at about 12 noon,
and we can end with the zohor prayers secara
berjamaah. Lunch or otherwise will be on
the generosity of the host. Brief on Uz Shofwan: Indonesian by
birth but now a Malaysian citizen.
Graduated from the infamous Medinah
University. He has led these sessions at
the MCOBA Penthouse once
although I am not sure if this is still
continuing. I have been attending his
classes for at least 7-8 years now. I find
that his forte is in implementing the Quraan
and the Hadis in our everyday lives. He
does not only talk of
jihad. He implements them. He is at
practically all natural catastrophe,
particularly in
Indonesia, dishing out aid and
providing spiritual enhancement to the
victims. One may find him "hard" in the
beginning, but rest assured, he delivers the
message, just as it should be delivered. If
anyone wants to know about how to mandi
junub (and the like), one will surely be
disappointed.
Please let me know if I can proceed to firm
up with Uz Shofwan. But having said that,
1st Saturday of December is out of the
question. If agreeable, I suggest we start
on a
clean slate at the turn of the
(solar) new year.
